This notice explains what VCT does with the details you give us on this website and in the live demo. We keep it short and only ask for what we need.

Who we are

This website and the VCT live demo are run by VCT (Vehicle Compliance Tracker). We decide how the details below are used. You can contact us at info@thevct.co.uk.

What we collect and why

When you use the contact form

• What: your name and email address, and if you give them, your company, phone number, fleet size and message.
• Why: to reply to you and talk about VCT for your fleet. You've asked us to get in touch, and it's in both our interests that we do.
• How long: for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, then we delete it.

When you ask for a live demo

• What: your email address, the vehicle registration you enter (if any), whether you ticked "keep me updated", and when you asked for and opened your demo.
• Why: to email you the link to your demo, and to stop automated abuse of the demo and of the DVLA and DVSA services we look vehicles up with. We may follow up once about your demo. We only send you news about VCT if you ticked "keep me updated", and you can ask us to stop at any time.
• How long: your demo, and everything you do in it, is deleted after 60 minutes without activity, or straight away when you end it. Your demo request (email, registration and choices) is deleted automatically after 12 months.

Vehicle details

When you open a demo, we look up the registration you entered with the DVLA (tax) and the DVSA (MOT history). This information is about the vehicle, not about you, and it's deleted with your demo.

Services we use

• Our hosting and email providers store the website and the demo, and send our emails. They only use your details to provide that service to us.
• Cloudflare Turnstile checks that demo requests come from a person, not a bot. Cloudflare processes technical information from your browser to do this.
• Google Fonts: this website loads its fonts from Google, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which see your IP address.

We don't sell your details or share them with anyone else for their own marketing.

Cookies

This website doesn't set cookies. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is remembered in your own browser. The live demo uses one essential cookie to keep you signed in to your demo while you use it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete them, or tell us to stop using them, including for news about VCT. Email info@thevct.co.uk and we'll respond within one month.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your details, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
